Junior CricketJunior Indoor Cricket
INTRODUCTIONOur new junior indoor cricket season for 2013 will be starting soon.
We have been running this competition for the last 14 years and we welcome many of you back to another season. We
also look forward to meeting many new teams and individuals to make it a bigger and better competition.
The competitions are designed to give every child a chance to continue their skills whilst they may be in their off season
from outdoor, or perhaps play a different sport. They are conducted in a friendly and social manner for all children
playing, and for parents to view.
REGISTRATION
The registration dates are :
Saturday 9 March, from 10.00am to 2.00pm, or
Saturday 16 March, from 10.00am to 2.00pm
These are the only 2 dates available for registration so you will need to attend either one of these days.
If you are registering a team, we do not need to see all the players at registration. It will be sufficient for one person
from the team to come down to the centre with all player details and registration monies.
If you are registering as an individual, you will need to come down to the centre with all your details and registration
money.
To register you will need:
Players' Name
Players's dates of birth (plus proof of age)
Contact phone number
$10 registration fee per player
All new players to the centre will be required to have proof of age that will be sighted at registration.
(we do not need to keep a copy on our records)
Proof of age can be either in the form of a birth certificate, passport, cricket card or a school card.

The competition starts Saturday 23 March and is played every Saturday afternoon at the one venue at the sports centre.

GAME FEES
The game fee is $80 per team per week. This is to be paid as a team payment and not from individual players.
This can be paid either weekly or the whole season of 15 weeks (not including finals) can be paid up front at round 1 or 2.
NUMBER OF PLAYERS
Each team is made up of 8 players for each game. It is advised that each team have between 8 to 10 players to allow for players not being available for any particular game (no more than 8 can be used on any one day- ie. no substitutions; unless injuries) AGE GROUPSThe age groups are from Under 8 to Under 17 (inclusive). The age group of each team will be determined by the oldest player in the team. The cut off date for the players' age is the grand Final day of 17 August 2013. Eg. If you are 12 years old on 17 August 2013, then you will play Under 12. GRADING/DRAWS/LEADERBOARDS All teams will initially graded as per their age group. The first four weeks of the competition will enable us to regrade your team based on ability if necessary. Your team may end up in a different age grade.
(eg. A strong U11's team may play against a weak U12's team)
We will contact your team captain/organiser with the time for your first game by Wednesday 20 March. Your times will then be advised every week at the centre on Saturdays (for the first 5 weeks).
Once grading is completed by round 5, draws will then be handed out and points tables will be on display at the centre.
UNDER 8/9/10 COMPETITIONIn order to ensure that our younger cricketers learn the game of indoor cricket, the centre provides 2 staff members (which includes the umpire) to oversee their games. In doing so it allows the games to run more smoothly and ensures that every child is getting a fair go and feels included in the games. However, it is still required that these teams have a manager/team organiser to oversee the administration of the team. Castle Hill Indoor Sports place an emphasis that all our competitions are played for fun and that the social aspects of cricket are of great importance to the game. This is particularly the case with our U8/9/10 competition. EQUIPMENT REQUIREDThe only uniform requirement is that each player musr wear at least one batting glove when they are batting. (outdoor batting gloves are permitted) It is also strongly advisable that all players wear a 'protector' (particularly when batting) All cricket balls, wicketkeeping gloves, and umpires will be provided by the sports centre. There will be a limited number of cricket bats available for use, so it is strongly advised that each team brings along their own cricket bats. DURATION OF GAMES AND COMPETITIONAll games will be approximately for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The games will consist of 16 overs (6 ball overs) for each team. Each player will bat with a partner for 4 overs, and will also bowl 2 overs each. The competition will run for 15 weeks plus 2 weeks of finals (see below for competition dates) CONDUCT TOWARDS OFFICIALS AND PLAYERSCastle Hill Indoor Sports promotes all competitions to be played in a fun and social manner. Therefore we will not accept any abusive or negative attitudes towards any officials or players that participate in our competitions. Any incidents that do occur will be dealt with by management. WEBSITE
All details in relation to draws and leaderboards will be available on this website, along with information about our other facilities within the sports centre.
We look forward to seeing you all at registration. Castle Hill Indoor Sports Management
